How this works
Break-even is not simply cost price plus shipping. Only the orders that are delivered and kept bring in money, but advertising and packaging are paid on every order you ship, including the ones that come back. So the delivered orders have to carry the cost of the failed ones too.
The calculation adds up what one attempted order costs you — product cost, ads, packaging, return handling, RTO handling, and the share of returned stock that comes back unsellable — then divides by the proportion of orders that actually stick. That gives the settlement each delivered order must bring in for the batch to come out level.
Prices are rounded up, never to the nearest rupee. Rounding a floor downwards would put the suggested price on the losing side of break-even, which is the one direction the answer must never be wrong in.
Settlement is what reaches your bank, not the price on the listing. If you enter a GST rate the tool also shows the gross figure a buyer would see.
